CANDIDATUL IDEAL:

We are looking for a highly qualified forestry conservation and management expert to coordinate and supervise forest conservation related work for the WWF Danube Carpathian Programme and to lead forest related work for the WWF Romanian office.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Knowledge:
University degree in forestry, conservation management

2. Experience:
Technical proficiency in the field of forest conservation and management, with at least 5 years of professional experience, 3 years of which should be in the region, with demonstrated success in managing teams.

3. Skills and Abilities:
- strong skills in project planning, financing, implementation and evaluation, good leadership abilities,
- good capacity to manage a multinational team
- ability to liaise effectively with ministry representatives, universities, local communities and governments.
- excellent oral and written communications skills in English
- very good communication skills


RESPONSABILITATI / BENEFICII:

The main responsibilities of the position will be to:
• Develop/update and implement the work plan for the Carpathian Forest Programme.
• Coordinate and supervise Carpathian forest related projects and forest related activities in the Danube region
• Co-ordinate forest related work with the other work areas/packages of the DCPO programme, like for e.g. with climate change related projects and the Green Business Programme
• Coordinate forest related work and projects for Romania
• Lead the development and screening of field and policy projects.
• Co-ordinate the monitoring and evaluation of projects within the forestry programme and report back to the Carpathian Forest and Protected Area Leader.
• Coordination of the forest team
• Develop the capacity of appropriate staff to effectively manage the forest programme projects.
• Supervise the work of the WWF-DCP forest officers
• Represent WWF-DCP in forest related external fora within and outside the Danube-Carpathian area.
• Fundraising and budgeting for related projects both for the DC region and for Romania
• Liaising with NGOs/organisations/projects with activities related to forest conservation
