| CANDIDATUL IDEAL:
University degree in engineering, energy resource management or other related field
3 years’ professional experience in technical, commercial and financial aspects of energy efficiency in the industrial and / or built environment
Experts with a relevant economics / finance background will be considered for one of the three positions.
Expertise in energy efficiency in the built environment will be especially valued, (this covers a wide range of knowledge / skills, including technical, institutional, legislative and regulatory, social, as well as financial)
Expertise in procurement and management of specialist consultants;
Knowledge of EU and global best practice energy efficiency policies and public financing instruments;
Strong interest in the environmental and energy sector and public policy issues associated with the countries of central and eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, in particular issues surrounding the Kyoto Protocol of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change;

RESPONSABILITATI / BENEFICII:
Structuring of innovative financial instruments for sustainable energy, based on detailed market analysis, and targeting in particular the industrial sector and the built environment;
Management of specialised project implementation consultants, designing terms of reference, providing technical management and support and trouble-shooting;
Assisting with energy audits, monitoring and reporting of energy savings and other contributions to implementation of the SEI.

DESCRIEREA COMPANIEI:
The EBRD is a leader in financing energy efficiency in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and its Sustainable Energy Initiative (SEI) is at the forefront of efforts by International Financial Institutions to mitigate climate change. The Bank is expanding both the scale and scope of its actions across a range of sectors, including industry, district heating, urban transport, the built environment, and power generation, transmission and distribution.
The Bank is also active in carbon finance and market development. The Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Team leads the EBRD’s work in these areas and is recruiting three energy efficiency specialists to focus on development of intermediated finance for sustainable energy.
The EBRD’s intermediated financial products complement the Bank’s large standalone projects and, with a wider and more diffuse impact, are crucial to the promotion of long term market transformation towards rational energy use and reduced carbon emissions. The EBRD has a wide network of client relationships with the banking sector in its region and one of the SEI’s priorities is to leverage these relationships, building capacity in the financial system and channelling investment and expertise into large numbers of smaller projects. The EBRD also has strong relationships with the region’s ESCO sector and with municipal authorities, and seeks to catalyse innovative financing through these counterparts too.
