PLANNING ENGINEER - WORLDWIDE LOCATIONS

Qualifications & Experience:
The job holder must have a tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of ten years experience, working within Production Operations / Project Controls environment, (preferably in complex onshore and off-shore oil and gas projects) with experience in working directly or indirectly for a Major Oil Company with experience in dealing with Share & Stakeholders and experience in preparing and executing control procedures.

Required Competencies:
The job holder must have proven:
• Familiarity with Planning practices and the associated software such as Primavera P3e
• Familiarity with the requirements and structure of Integrated Planning and preferably operations readiness processes.
• Knowledge of computer based cost and planning tools plus adept in the use of MS Office packages like Excel, Access, Project or equivalent packages. Experience in use of PERTMASTER would be an advantage.
• Knowledge sufficient to identify potential bottlenecks / mitigation measures and have the skills to prepare succinct analysis for management action.
• Self motivation skills and able to work without supervision.
• Ability to prepare and present internal and external presentations either individually or as part of a team.
• Ability to create/update cost and planning estimating/control methods and procedures to reflect the latest operations and logistics execution philosophies
• Fluency in spoken and written English,

Purpose:
To prepare and maintain the Operations Readiness and Assurance (OR&A) schedule and conduct monthly progress reports and S curves. Provide interface with Project and Commissioning Planners regarding integrated Planning interfaces. Supervise and interface planning and progress control activity of the Production and Maintenance departments, verifying the conformity of the current activity with the Work Programmer & Budget schedule / CTR catalogue.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
The job holder is responsible for:
• providing a full planning, work management and analysis of Production and Maintenance activities, as part of the Operations Readiness and assurance process..
• ensuring plans are tracked and reported. Highlighting and offering solutions to problems.
• pro-actively handling all matters relating to Planning and Risk Analysis.
• developing a hierarchical set of schedules down to Level 4 for the OR&A process.
• Maintaining and updating all plans in readiness for monthly progress reporting
• ensuring that all interfaces are identified, agreed and reviewed on a weekly basis
• ensuring that all short term critical tasks are reviewed on a weekly basis
• Maintaining OR&A strategic planning document and supporting narrative sheets as required.
• Assisting with the Department’s CTR catalogue and develop the Work Program & Budget (WP&B) for P&M activities
• Developing integrated operations procedures and plans in preparation for mature operations
• maintaining close liaison with the various Planning Departments
• Assist with the preparation of Integrated Activity Planning (IAP) procedures for the operations phase.
