Applications Development Manager

Job Qualifications:

- Looking for a unique mixture of technical team leadership and application design expertise
- An advanced degree in software engineering is also desirable.
- Must have 6+ years as an architect or development manager.
- Must have 5+ years designing/developing in object-based environments and multi-tier software applications
- 5+ years of experience with J2EE and .NET framework, web services, and front-end frameworks.
- 4+ years of experience with UI design and Web 2.0 technology.
- Experience building scalable, highly available, mission critical applications
- Extensive experience in application design, architecture, development and implementation of software projects using Java and .NET technologies.
- In depth knowledge of advanced design techniques, specifically web application modeling and design.
- Ability to conduct complex systems analysis and translate user requirements into business solutions.
- Must be able to effectively communicate and manage distributed development teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritize tasks.
- Professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff

Educational Requirements:

-BS or MS in Computer Management Information Systems or other related degree.

Position Summary:

Manage a global team of offshore/outsourced resources responsible for providing world-wide applications delivery, timely IT solutions and services that support the company’s business plan. Administrative duties consistent with that of a Manager level position within the organization.

- P&L management (budgeting, forecasting, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Delivery and Support:
-Defines proactive activities required for optimization of stability and performance of studio applications
-Prepares technical quality enter/exit gates for design, development and deployment
-Act as primary contact for escalations pertaining to 24x7 business critical applications.
-Leads/defines application architecture, approach and design.
-Key contributor to detailed application design, development, and code reviews with developers
-Responsible for assuring consistent, unified, and reusable designs across portfolio of projects.
-Ensures end product aligns with original business objectives, IT strategies and design intent.
-Ensures development conformability with IT standards and enterprise architecture, scalability, and security.
-Investigates technology trends and recommends technologies that are a fit with the web application development/architecture, including third party frameworks, processes, models, tools and off-the-shelf solutions relating to web development/support. Defines proactive activities required for optimization of stability and performance of studio applications

Team / Project Leadership:
-Manages and mentors developers, delegating tasks, and ensuring target dates and quality objectives are met
-Plans and manages several projects simultaneously delivering on-time and on-budget
-Participates in design/development estimating and scheduling
-Drives development teams to design and build quality applications using industry standard patterns, architectures, and best practices
