PRODUCT DESIGNER

- Strong drawing skills and artistic feeling
- Artistic education or experience
- Experience or education in textiles is a strong advantage
- Computer skills: Windows (outlook, excel, word) is a must. CAD is most welcome.
- Good spoken and written English knowledge

- Take care of the execution of the design project on the basis of specialized draw and design programs (CAD/CAM: EAT) from the concept until the final design conform to the wishes of the principal (internal / external customer).
o creation of a new design (based on acquired designs, designs from other units, trends, magazines, own design,…) according to the specific demands of the customer, the request or the design manager
o setup changes of designs, inserting logo’s in designs
o Input and selection of the weaves to determine the look of the knitted or woven fabric
o Making the card-image of designs and send it to the mill/knitting hall
o Close communication and follow-up of the new creation in production
- Have the power to set up constructions by themselves, to develop colours,... into the directions of the KPI’s related to the management of the SKU’s.
- Is responsible to create a high and even growing success rate of new collections, qualities, constructions, colours & designs by continuous innovation combined with a highly commercial focus.
- Correct feeling with the worldwide market by continuous communication with sales, customers, marketing, seminars, trend studies, etc. in order to have the right developments on the right time at the right place.
- Close support and cooperation with the different research departments , in order to create new products or concepts or to realize adaptations on existed products from his/her technical expertise.
- Keep themselves abreast of the evolutions into the trade area of design and development, keep his/her know-how up to date in function of the new developments in order to consolidate her/his expertise by offering a service that is based on a continual revised knowledge.

The competence centre (headquarters) for R&D and design is located in Belgium. A local unit in Indonesia – coached by the Belgian team - takes care of the more operational tasks within R&D and design.
To further expand our product design activities, we are starting up a product design office within our plant in Roumania.
