Web Developer

• Minimum of four/five years in a similar role
• Experience with some or all of the following:
• PHP, AJAX, HTML, XML, Javascript, CSS, MySQL, Actionscript, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash
• Strong commercial experience with Unix based systems and Apache required.
• Experience working with Flash would be beneficial

Overall Purpose of Job
Under limited supervision, providing development skills including unit testing and functional requirements gathering for all internal development tasks required to support the business.


Main duties & responsibilities:
Working closely with the development manager and the business to deliver systems in accordance with the functional specifications

1. Determining priority of calls and projects
2. Analysis of issues and problem solving
3. Carrying out other tasks as required
4. Coordinating and communicating with other internal departments


Essential Competencies:

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven aptitude for Programming, System Analysis and Design is essential
• Ability to prioritise own workload and work to exacting deadlines
• Flexibility and adaptable in their approach to customer/business needs
• Must have release management experience
• Solid code optimization and software design principles as well as excellent analytical skills required
• Ability to work in a team environment and should have good communication skills
• Enthusiastic and structured approach to development
• Good problem solving abilities
• Desire to learn about new products and keep abreast of new product developments
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Must have the ability to conform with development/web standards
• Work well in both a team environment and independently.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or similar, technical degree.
