Application Tester

· University Degree in computer science or economic computer science or a similar faculty;

· 0-3 years related experience with databases (MySQL, SQLServer, Oracle – latest preferred) – queries, optimization, scripting (administration is a plus, but not a must);

· Programming fundamentals - knowledge of basic principles and concepts of programming languages, as well as conventional development methodologies, frameworks and databases. Java specific knowledge, at a basic level, is a plus, but not a must. The same applies for basic Linux/Unix/AIX commands;

· Familiarity with concurrent version software, FTP, editing environments and DB-clients;

· Problem solving and analytical skills;

· Ability to update leads with accurate statuses;

· Customer focus and enthusiasm for innovative and challenging solutions;

· Very good knowledge of German and English Languages;

· Travel availability;

Job purpose:

Analysis, design suggestions and testing of reporting, monitoring and patch DB-Scripts

Evaluating the duration of testing processes

Technical assistance in deployment and maintenance of DB-environments


Responsibilities:

· Participates in the design, specification, testing, and maintenance of DB-scripts;

· Analyzes the database contents, tests different purpose scripts (reporting, monitoring, migration, patch), writes test cases and test scenarios for the database scripts;

· Participates in evaluating systems requirements applicable to customer solutions
