Java Software Engineer (ESA Project) - Urgent

ESSENCIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

* Engineering academic degree (preferably on Computer Science, or similar)
* Good skills on software development processes (requirements, architecture, implementation and testing)
* Must have knowledge/experience on Java language
* Must have knowledge of OOP concepts and UML.
* Must have knowledge of XML and SQL
* Must have good documentation skills and mastery of the English language

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

* Knowledge/experience with Eclipse RCP and Hibernate technologies is considered an asset

BACKGROUND
With the objective of improving and expanding the services for storing, cataloguing and disseminating Earth Observation products to customers, ESA started a process of harmonization of some of the Payload Data Ground Segment elements - such as: the archive, the order-handling, the data reception and data distribution - with the long term objective of having an harmonized and open European infrastructure able to host and disseminate Multi-Mission data.
In the scope of this harmonisation effort Critical Software S.A. is collaborating with ESA in the development of state-of-the-art tools to support the users in the configuration of the different Multi-Mission Infrastructure elements, automating as much as possible the configuration process for the upcoming missions and preventing the users from facing different configuration languages.
The positions are available immediately.
MAIN DUTIES
The candidate, integrated in a highly-qualified and motivated team in Lisbon, will be responsible for:

* Support to coding and unit testing
* Support to software integration and test
* Support final acceptance of the software
* Update documentation as required

The candidate will work in Lisboa. After 6 months, the candidate will be integrated in Critical Software Romania team.
