Controls & Instrumentation Design Draughtsperson

Job scope & responsibilities
Required to undertake drawing work with regard to the design of the CVF’s Wholeship C&I Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), process hook-ups, schematics, layouts and general arrangements in accordance with the Aircraft Carrier Alliance policies and Lloyd’s Register’s Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Naval Ships.
Developing Instrument schematics, layouts and general arrangements. Liaison with the C&I Team undertaking work locally and at other sites Working closely with C&I Team to ensure all drawings are consistent.
Ensure the Lead Engineer or CAM are made aware of any issues / implications due to design changes.
Timely and accurate completion of work allocated by the C&I Team.
Progress reporting to the Lead Engineer or CAM.
Attendance at relevant working group meetings representing the interests of the C&I team in area of expertise.
Software requirements:
AUTOCAD P&ID 2008 package (training will be provided for the package).
2D AUTOCAD 2008 (integrated within the AUTOCAD P&ID 2008 package).
Languages
English speaker
Notes 5 years experience in an Electrical / Instrumentation role as a draughtsperson
Possibly involving travel within the UK

1) Mechanical Design Engineers - Static Equipment
with experience of the following mechanical packages:

Vessels, tanks, Heat Exchangers for petrochemical and offshore projects.

2) Mechanical Design Engineers - Rotating Equipment
With experience of the following mechanical packages:

Pumps, Compressors & turbines for petrochemical and offshore projects.

3) Mechanical Design Engineers - Mechanical Handling
With experience of the following equipment.

Conveyors, bucket elevators, stackers, vibration screens - all for the handling
of hazardous materials such as ammonium phosphate.

4) Structural Engineer

Activities include:
. Basic & detail design of offshore structures and associated calculations to classification society rules, design and detail of steelwork unit drawings,
checking of calculations
. Modification of existing structures
. Material specification and coding, heavy lift arrangements, welding specifications etc
. Liaison with manufacturers and clients
. Estimating, progress monitoring and reporting
. Managing workload and resources

Candidates should be familiar with STAAD, Mathcad or similar design software.

Senior Engineer, Electrical

Job scope & responsibilities
Develop concept studies. Preparation of documentation to FEED level.
• Ability to specify Field instrumentation technology.
• Assessment of Control system and utility system capacity.
• Development of I/O counts
• Development of MTO’s for cost and weight assessment.
• Preparation of drawings and mark up of existing drawings.
• Ability to write clearly in English for the clarification of the instrument scope in Study reports.
• Engineering degree with at least 10 years experience as an instrument engineer.
• Broad experience in telecom and instrument engineering with knowledge of alternative technologies.
• Ability to think conceptually and identify alternative solutions.
• Experience in Front end design (FEED) work.

Pre-commissioning Engineer

Job scope & responsibilities
In charge to analyse client documentation, the candidate shall establish the pre-commissioning task plan.
Write “request for information” to the client.
Participate to the subcontractor selection.
Check:
The subcontractor proposals (price and design)
Pre-mobilisation and mobilisation of pre-commissioning spread.
Subcontractor contract.
Spread demobilisation.
Management of changes if any.
Supervise the pre-commissioning during offshore or onshore operations.
Interface with other discipline as Piping, Manifolds dept…
Software requirements:

Languages
English is mandatory/ French appreciated

Notes Engineer or technician with successful experience (offshore or onshore).
Familiar with:
Common pre-commissioning standards.
Dewatering, drying and nitrogen packing procedures using sub-sea pump.

Job Description
Instrument commissioning engineers

Job scope & responsibilities
Topsides/Turret field instrumentation and Control.
Terms and Conditions:
- start date: ASAP until end September.
- rotation cycle: 8/2 weeks on/off (rotation flights provided)
- accommodation provided.
- local transport provided (shared car).
- day rate to the man: 410 GBP per day worked.
Then offshore phase from end September until June 2009. The engineers will get a 50% uplift on their day rate, per night spent offshore. Rotation during offshore phase is 6/2 weeks on/off but during sail away from Singapore it also depends on where/when the ship stops.
Continuation of contract more than highly possible if all parties are satisfied. Followed by an other FPSO job in Singapore, or a turret construction and commissioning in Singapore and integration in Korea.
