| CANDIDATUL IDEAL:
Language school in Bucharest is looking for 3 committed teachers of English for children aged 6-12.
The ideal applicant should meet the following first requirements:
- excellent mastery of English (you will be asked to provide record of studies and of any additional training)
- very good command of Romanian
- some previous teaching experience is preferred (record of previous teaching assignments; experience in working in international schools is a plus);
- be prepared to put in at least one full school year (15. 09 2008 - 31 July 2009);
- enjoy working with children; patient, flexible, good sense of humour
- thorough but imaginative;
- dedicated, enthusiastic, professional and dynamic approach to teaching;
- active in pursuing professional growth and curriculum development;
- committed to meeting the needs of all students; active in devising strategies and steps to take toward this goal;
- good classroom management skills
- open-minded, curious about the world, well-balanced in opinions and non-biased;
- computer literate
- display integrity and loyalty
- excellent people skills;
- highly organised;
- honest and friendly;
- good teamplayers with a strong committment to colegiality
- outgoing, adaptive personality;
- warm and respectful with children, parents and colleagues;
- smart casual dress.
| RESPONSABILITATI / BENEFICII:
- planning, designing and delivering lessons as per established syllabus
- designing and producing classroom materials and adapting existing materials where needed
- assessments of student needs and progress
- keeping accurate records and classroom files
- building and maintaining classroom ethos and drive
- facilitating parent/school liaison
- preparing information for quality assurance exercises
- updating classroom website
- preparing and producing classroom newsletter
- engaging in continuing professional development
- actively involved in all school-wide activities
We offer a one school year contract with possibility of extension subject to professional appraisal, competitive pay, and a reduced working week (4 days). Please note that there can be situations where you will be required to work overtime or during weekends.
Interested candidates are invited to send an updated CV and a letter of application. The letter should include a short outline of professional experience and at least one paragraph explaining the reasons behind your application arguing in favour of your skills and qualities. There are also 2-4 school wide events per school year, as well as the summer programme where full participation is required, both in planning and delivery.
| DESCRIEREA COMPANIEI:
School of English based in Bucharest teaching children aged 4 to 14. Please note that this is a full time position. Kindly be aware that, as per our school's standards of expectation, any teaching position includes full participation of the teacher not only in classroom teaching but also in the efficient running of the classroom. These are labour intensive positions, with a high degree of accountability and standards of performance.
