RF Engineer

The RF Engineer will be responsible for the Radio design and coverage planning of the WiMAX Network in Bucharest. He will be part of the actual RF local team and report to the Director RF Engineering Europe in Vienna.
Key tasks and Accountabilities:
• Responsible for the RF design of a defined cluster of sites in Bucharest according to the EU Clearwire guidelines
• Simulate Coverage and Interference patterns of the WiMAX Network using the actual Clearwire RF planning tool
• Provide RF capacity studies using MapInfo
• Issue search rings for a defined cluster of sites
• Approve Site candidates
• Participate to and manage Site Surveys with the acquisition team
• Review Site Drawings for final Radio Planning approval
• Generate frequency plans for the WiMAX Network using the actual RF planning tool
• Organize and analyse Drive Tests after Site integration
• Provide inputs and support for Radio frequency management in Romania

• English spoken and written

Knowledge & Experience
• 3 years experience in a 2G/3G telecommunication company
• 3 years experience as GSM and/or UMTS Radio coverage planner or equivalent
• Knowledge of at least one Radio simulation tool
• Optional: knowledge of MapInfo

Travel Requirements
• First phase: travels for Site Surveys in Bucharest. Later: might have to travel to other cities in Romania
