Job Description

The following describes the work schedule and tasks for this post:

Fundraising for Specific Restoration and Educational Projects

We will be seeking funding support for a number of specific projects such as restoration of the accommodation, conversion of part of the ship as an education-museum area and the development and production of an education support package. This will require the successful applicant to:

Ÿ Review a diverse fundraising mix including companies, trusts, foundations and individuals in order to meet the necessary criteria for successful bidding
Ÿ Complete the applications and monitor the progress of the application
Ÿ Work in close partnership with the Project Management Team and the BSSC Board in order to keep the team informed

Marketing

· Plan events for each year including costs, expected revenue and visitor targets and work with a designer to develop, produce and print a yearly events leaflet for distribution. Manage the events by carrying out sponsorship requests, managing the marketing budget, brief the staff etc to achieve a positive financial result for the ship.
· Develop and maintain contacts with local press.
Ÿ Apply for event awards by developing events that are recognized by the industry.


Communication

Ÿ Develop and implement marketing strategies that promote the ship to all relevant markets, driven by targets for income and visitors.
Ÿ Liaise with staff in appropriate organizations to improve the profile of the ship, including regular meetings with Romania Litoral, updating our website and keeping these organisations informed of forth coming events. Also aim to keep The Tall Ship included in all marketing literature that is sent out.
Ÿ Develop PR opportunities and continue to develop the strategy.
Ÿ Act as point of contact for all press queries and opportunities that arise.
Ÿ Continually working to develop relationships with our neighbours on the water front including Primaria Mangalia. Primaria Constanta, Ministery of Turism, ANR
Ÿ Work in collaboration with City Sightseeing to maintain a good relationship with one of our key visitor providers. This is especially prevalent with the opening of the new bridge and the threat of route changes.

Evaluation

Ÿ Carry out event analysis with both visitors and staff to determine the success of projects including advertising and delivery.
Ÿ Deliver reports to staff and management on how events have been received and changes that could be made.

Other Duties

· Assist in the promotion of the Grethe Witting as a function venue
· Interact with visitors and provide excellent customer service
· Act on a rota system as weekend Duty Manager
· Work out of hours on occasions


The successful applicant will require to be part of an experienced professional team who are accountable to the BSSC Board.
