CIVIL DESIGN ENGINEER - QATAR

In the name of our client, International general contracting company internationally recognized, involved in three major sectors: public works, construction and industrial projects in the Middle East, mainly on turn key basis, we are searching for CIVIL DESIGN ENGINEER to work in QATAR.

Executed projects are not limited only to office buildings, roads and bridges, hospitals, schools, factories, sport facilities, electromechanical and irrigation projects, water treatment plants, power plants, etc.

Most of these projects required a high level of complexity and extensive technical details.

The business is mainly located in the near and Middle East, namely in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, reaching now other Arab countries like Algeria and has development plans in Sudan and Muscat.

Education and Experience:

- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in designing Civil FDED for industrial projects preferably.
- Knowledge and familiar with Micro Station in Windows environment and Auto CAD, also Etabs, SAP 2000 are advantageous.
- Strong command of both written and spoken English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

The candidate should be able to perform the civil engineering designs for the industrial projects, and has experience in preparing and finishing the Final Design Engineering Drawings (FDED).

Job Responsibilities:

- Prepare detailed design and drawings for the civil works.
- Familiar with reading shop drawings and able to prepare As-Built drawings for customer approval as and when required.
- Assists on the organization structure of every project, determines time frame, funds and approves project schedule.
- Analyzes the products designs, the customers’ requirements, the performance standards and the authorization of the technical studies and approves them.
- The candidate should be highly motivated and be able to work under stress, and free from management direction.
- Establishes standards according to the requirements with the assistance of the project manager and tests them.
- Provides direct support in the day-to-day operations.
- Approves design, specifications, plans and schedule changes.
- Exercises and practices controls that are essential to ensure the performance of projects in accordance with contracts.
- Reviews progress measurements, approves them and refers to the Project Manager for billing and collection.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge and attends educational workshops.
- Maintains the project database, develops information requirements and designs an information system.
- Ensures the implementation and maintenance of the company quality system.
- Performs other duties upon request and as deemed necessary.
