Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree Master of Business Administration or equivalent credentials preferred;
- Work experience: 5-7 years of experience in purchasing, contract negotiation, strategic alliance development and competitive cost and price analysis;
- Type of experience: purchasing experience in a management/supervisory role, team leader preferably in the retail electronics area on high volume electronics.
- International exposure is a plus;
- Experience leading cost reduction ideas through changes in processes;
- Excellent strategic thinking, financial analysis, project management skills and leadership skills are essential;
- Must be able to work on multiple projects at one time (time management skills);
- Candidate must be committed to meeting corporate goals and willing to support the other functional groups to achieve these goals;
- Candidate will be expected to support process improvements as well as assist in developing new processes as needed;
- Extensive category knowledge; contracts; leading sourcing, contracting and partnering strategies across industries; cost accounting and cost estimating fundamentals;

Our Client, principal retailer and specialist for consumer electronics and FMCG goods is looking for a Purchasing Director. The client has as main purpose to create a sales and marketing platform for electronics, informatics, communications, personal care and optical products.
Job Purpose:
The Director of Purchasing is responsible to develop and implement purchasing strategies. This includes market evaluation, risk management, and value enhancement activity. You will must also maintain cost and negotiate commercial relationships through supply agreements. Purchasing strategies would include supplier evaluation and selection and reduction of the supplier base, setting up methodologies for determining total cost of product and clearly understanding cost drivers. In addition the candidate would be responsible to obtains supplies, services, and equipment by directing procurement, contractual services, and warehousing programs.
Duties:
* Develops sources for the procurement of supplies, services, and equipment by attending demonstrations; contacting vendors; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Performs direct negotiation for significant contracts, corporate relationships, and major capital acquisitions. Meets committed contractual goals through periodic meetings with major suppliers and key user departments.
* Procures supplies, services, and equipment by establishing minimum and maximum inventory levels and reorder quantities; conferring with vendors; selecting products and equipment and estimating values of market price; determining method of procurement, i.e., direct purchase, lease, or bid.
* Provides information regarding supply, service, and equipment selection by responding to requests; leading conferences involving suppliers, engineers, purchasers, inspectors, and other company personnel; facilitating material inspection, substitution, standardization, and vendor/company partnering.
* Maintains procurement and receiving operations by developing policies and procedures; designing forms and systems; ensuring verification of incoming shipments, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
* Maintains quality of supplies, services, and equipment by defining quality standards; discussing defective or unacceptable goods, services, or equipment with users, vendors, and others; determining source of trouble; resolving disputes.
* Trains, recruits and manages the acquisition team and department.
* Report directly to General Manager, Operational Director and Shareholders.
* Implement procedures and organize the purchasing department.
* Prepares procurement and usage reports by collecting and analyzing cost, quality, user, vendor, and other information.
