RESPONSABILITATI / BENEFICII:
On behalf of our prestigious client, the British Embassy in Bucharest, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable EU / Projects Officer. The successful applicant will be one of three EU Desk Officers working in the 6-strong embassy EU/Economic team.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the management of the Embassy’s substantial bilateral project portfolio, involving the identification and development of project bids, as well as the monitoring and assessment of ongoing projects.
- Reporting and analysis of Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) issues, and informing and influencing key players on the UK’s position on EU JHA. Covering other EU dossiers as required
- Contributing to the delivery of the Embassy’s public diplomacy strategy, for example, by organizing project launches and speech-writing.
- Arranging programmes for visiting UK officials and others.
- Line management of a Projects Assistant.
Requirements:
- We are looking for someone with excellent written and spoken English and Romanian, and education to degree level.
- The successful applicant will be a self-starter and a team-player, who is able to demonstrate flexibility, problem solving abilities and initiative.
- They should also be capable of assimilating information quickly, working on multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
- A good knowledge of EU affairs, and project management experience, would be a great advantage.
- Proven organizational skills and a strong initiative are essential.
- The successful applicant will be politically aware, and a good networker who can build up and maintain a wide range of contacts and who can deal effectively with Romanian and foreign officials.

The salary package, which is currently under review, will be confirmed shortly. The salary will be competitive.
The position is offered under an annual renewable contract with the possibility of a permanent contract at the end of the first year.
