AUTOMATED TESTING AND INTEGRATION ENGINEER

We are looking for an outstanding applicant who can demonstrate the following qualities:

Professional competency


Education:
- Technical study of computer science, transportation, mathematics, physics or similar

Preferred project experience:
- Set-up and maintenance of testing environments including operating systems (Linux)
- Testing of complex software systems under usage of technical means like simulators and scripting languages
- Development (incl. Programming) of software application is a plus
- Experiences in Railway Application Development is a plus

Programming languages:
- Script Languages (shell scripting for Unix or Linux, Perl or others)
- Java
- Optional: HTML, XML
- Optional: CHILL, Pascal, C/C++ or LISP

Preferred tools and methods:
- Systematic testing of software
- Clear Case or other Version Control Software
- GNU Toolchain
- Shell utilities (perl, awk, sed, ...)
- Optional: ClearQuest
- Optional: Doors

Personal competencies:
- Structured and well-organised
- Team-working
- Intercultural communication, including the empathy to work in an international team
- Availability to travel abroad from time to time

Languages:
- English (very good reading and writing)
- German is a plus

Brief task description
Test of complex and safety-critical application software for the railway field, including:
- Specification of Test Cases on Requirements basis
- Implementation of Test Cases for unit test and subsystem test. Writing of test programs and test data
- Automation of Test Cases
- Execution of automated tests
- Support of test environments, tools and simulation
- Evaluation of the test output (coverage, traceability, progress)
- Test documentation
- Regular test reporting

The tests will be performed in close co-operation with experts from Thales Austria.
