Chief Engineer

Relevant 5 years experience in a similar position within an international company, preferably hotel or office building
University degree in Mechanics, Electrics or similar
Thorough knowledge of engineering disciplines and engineering operations Computer knowledge and exposure in budgeting process
Very good English communication skills
Leadership skills

Department Overview
Responsible for administration of all engineering facilities in the hotel, which come under property operation maintenance and energy conservation.

Quality
Develop systems and procedures to ensure safety for guests, employees, plant, machinery and property
Define service standards regarding maintenance in all areas of the hotel and ensure adherence to these
Prepare preventive maintenance schedules and ensure adherence
Ensure government regulations in all areas of Engineering are strictly followed

Customer
Ensure compliance of various statutory requirements and proper functioning of work request system
Recommend changes in methods, equipment, staff to improve departmental standards and productivity
Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activity in all areas of hotel with other departments
Direct the work within the department, including assignments, time schedules and vacation
Ensure adherence to policies & procedures and all areas of hotel are as per required standards & specification

Profit
Prepare departmental budget
Direct budgeting process for capital expenditure to ensure the property is maintained according to standard
Optimize use of energy, monitor key performance indicators and take corrective action

People
Manage the department on a daily basis according to budget, business needs and legal requirements
Ensure resourcing, succession planning, team development, time schedule management and vacation planning within the department
Hold and chair regular departmental meetings & trainings
Conduct trainings and hotel systems
