Assistant Chief Engineer

Minimum 3 years previous supervisory experience is essential
Minimum 3 years maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or a similar varied work environment
Should be Qualified in an engineering discipline (University Graduate) - Electrical, Mechanical or Heating Cooling and Ventilation
Thorough knowledge of engineering disciplines and engineering operations
Should be flexible and ready to work in a dynamic environment
Computer knowledge
Fluent English and Romanian communication skills are essential
Must be able to take charge of the situation and work on own initiative
Must be EU citizen

The Engineering department is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all engineering facilities in the hotel, which come under property operation maintenance and energy conservation.

As Assistant Chief Engineer you will be reporting to the Chief Engineer, and you will be responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including energy conservation. Specific responsibilities include:

· Leading your team in the day to day engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel including service standards, equipment schedules and work schedules
· Liaising with Housekeeping to co-ordinate and prioritise maintenance activities for guest rooms and public areas
· Developing systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests, Team Members, plant, machinery and property
· Liaising with local authorities to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations
· Assisting the Chief Engineer in preparing Capital and Repairs & Maintenance budgets for Engineering
· Identifying and introducing environment friendly systems and equipment
· Monitoring Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering Department and taking corrective action as required – equipment inventory, quality audit, productivity, etc
· Responsibility for all Team Member related activities including performance management, training, career planning, disciplinary matters and team motivation
