FIXED ASSET & INVENTORY ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:
- University degree
- Romanian accounting qualification.
Preferred:
- Recognised international accounting qualification.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE:

Essential:
- Previous experience in a Fixed Asset or Inventory Accounting role.
- Must have experience of managing a team.
- Must be competent in book-keeping.
- Previous experience with large company.
- Experienced and confident in dealing with large volumes of data.
Preferred:
- Previous experience with international or multi-national company.
- Experience of using JDE or SAP.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

- Good technical accounting skills, particularly related to Fixed Assets and Inventory.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

- Ability to work well as a team player and motivate the team.
- Ability to delegate but also recognise when and where the department is struggling and provide hands-on support.
- Confident personality, with strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to use initiative.
- Good at problem solving and resolving issues.

On behalf of our Client, an important American petroleum company, we are looking for the position of:

FIXED ASSET & INVENTORY ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR (based in Ploiesti)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensures that all monthly reporting for Fixed Assets and Inventory in Romania is performed on a timely and accurate basis.
2. Review of the monthly depreciation charge to ensure the correct depreciation rates are being applied, all assets are being depreciated accordingly and the overall monthly charge is accurate for each category of assets and for each product line.
Managing the processing of Fixed Asset additions, inter-co transfers, retirements, disposals, CIP and other fixed asset movements to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure correct reporting of movements by product line, providing variance analysis on any movements in accordance with monthly reporting requirements and as required by local management.
3. Review of all Fixed Asset and Inventory reconciliations, ensure these are properly prepared on a monthly basis, ensuring any issues are investigated, including the monitoring of CIP, etc in a timely manner.
4. Providing statutory and tax reports to comply with Romanian accounting and fiscal requirements.
5. Coordinate and work with operations management to ensure that fixed asset and inventory physical counts are performed in line with company policy, that the counts are properly reconciled in a timely basis and all adjustments are approved and processed properly. Assist location operations management with training on physical count procedures.
6. Managing the team and developing the team members.
Clear communication and alerting the Romania Controller of issues as and when they arise.
7. Running necessary integrity reports on JDE on a monthly basis, investigating and resolving any differences or problems on a timely basis, bringing to the attention of the Romania controller any significant issues.
8. Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.

JOB PURPOSE: To ensure the financial integrity of Fixed Assets and Inventory for Romania entities.

Some international travel may be required within Europe. Driving license preferred.
