RESPONSABILITATI / BENEFICII:
1. Portal Architect - a portal architect needs to understand how to gather functional and non-functional requirements out of the customer and map that into a portal solution. This requires good communication skills since customer interaction and expectation setting is key. A typical portal architect has a good understanding of the capabilities of our Portal product so he/she can create a design that can actually be implemented and articulate that to the customer as well as the development team. The architect also needs to have a good understanding of
other subsystems (eg. Databases, Operating System, Network, Security Systems, Monitoring Systems, Transaction systems - CICS, MQ, eMQ, etc.) in order to create a "complete" solution that hangs together.
2. Portal Deployer - a portal deployer should be capable of installing Websphere Portal Server in a production environment. This person should be capable of deploying portal server in a clustered configuration, tune the portal for performance and be able to diagnose/debug deployment type issues (eg. firewall, network, connectivity, etc.).
3. Portal Developer - a portal developer should understand the Portal programming model and be able to implement simple to complex Portlets that take advantage of the Portal features. A typical portal developer usually has J2EE programming background (have developed Servlets, JavaBeans components, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Web Services, etc.)
4. Workplace Deployer - since Workplace is implemented on top of Portal. A typical Workplace Deployer is already versed in Portal Deployment. Workplace adds more complexity in terms of deployment since you are also dealing with the Portal stack. As with the Portal Deployer, a Workplace Deployer should be capable of deploying Workplace server in a clustered configuration, tune the Workplace for performance and be able to diagnose/debug deployment type issues (eg. firewall, network, connectivity, etc.).
5. Workplace Server Developer (Browser Based) - since Workplace is implemented on top of Portal. A typical Workplace Developer is already versed in Portal Development. However, Workplace adds new capabilities and features over and above what our Portal product can do. A Workplace Developer should be able to customize Workplace for the customer and know how to manipulate the collaboration components that come with the Workplace product (eg. Messaging, Calendaring, TeamSpace, Instant Messaging, Web Conferencing, etc.)
6. Workplace Client Developer (Rich Client/Eclipse Based) - Workplace Managed Client is our Rich Client UI based on Eclipse technology (a public standard). As with the Browser model, the server it connects to is also the Workplace Server. A Workplace Client Developer has a good understanding and practical experience with the Eclipse Programming Model. There are tons of books out there on how to program in the Eclipse environment. However, as with the Workplace Server, the Workplace Managed Client adds new capabilities and features over and above the base Eclipse such as Synchronization, Offline Capabilities, Collaboration Components, etc. A Workplace Client Developer has to be able to utilize these features and take advantage of the capabilities they provide.
7. Notes/Domino Developer - Must be able to implement Notes/Domino based applications. Understand the Notes/Domino programming model.
8. Notes/Domino Architect - a Notes/Domino architect needs to understand how to gather functional and non-functional requirements out of the customer and map that into a Notes/Domino solution. This requires good communication skills since customer interaction and expectation setting is key. A typical Notes/Domino architect has a good understanding of the capabilities of our Notes/Domino product so he/she can create a design that can actually be implemented and articulate that to the customer as well as the development team. The architect also needs to have a good understanding of other subsystems (eg. Databases, Operating System, Network, Security Systems, Monitoring Systems, Transaction systems - CICS, MQ, etc.) in order to create a "complete" solution that hangs together.
