SUN Servers migration engineer

• Educational background:
o University or equivalent degree, in IT or relevant business area
• Required skills:
o Operating Systems : SUN Solaris, HP-UX, Linux,
o Database Systems: Oracle
o 3 years of relevant professional IT background
o Sun Solaris and Sun Solaris Software experience
o Experience in porting Oracle DB & Applications from Sun Solaris to HP (HP-UX or Linux)
o Strong interest in working in SUN migration projects
o Fluent in conversational, written and technical English
o Excellent communication skills in writing, presenting and listening
o Strong analytical skills working in a highly complex IT environment.
o Ability to assimilate information and build new expertise quickly
o Strong interpersonal skills: able to collaborate and work in a virtual team, good initiative and follow-up
o Flexibility to travel
o Have another language is a plus (German, Spanish, French, Italian)

The SUN Servers migration engineer participates in the migration of SUN Server customer environment at the country level in the EMEA region. He/she is engaged on the projects by the country sales and pre-sales consultants from either the products or the services organization.

The SUN Server migration engineer mainly acts during the pre-sales phase of the customer projects and contributes actively in the success of SUN customer environment migration toward HP based platforms running HP-UX or Linux.
The SUN Servers migration engineer participates in the migration of SUN Server customer environment at the country level in the EMEA region. He/she is engaged on the projects by the country sales and pre-sales consultants from either the products or the services organization.

The SUN Server migration engineer mainly acts during the pre-sales phase of the customer projects and contributes actively in the success of SUN customer environment migration toward HP based platforms running HP-UX or Linux.
• Work for SUN applications re-hosting and SUN server database migration.
• Participate in all stages of the Sun environment migration, from customer requirements analysis and environment assessment up to targeted system configuration, application re-hosting, database migration, solution testing and customer support.
• Work in an international and virtual team together with other Sun Migration project team members as well as with global and local business contacts from the customer.
• Ongoing support of the re-hosted application will be handed over to a separate organization and is not part of this role.
• Get training as required, both formal in-house training as well as on the job training.
• Frequent business travel within the EMEA region is necessary
• Ensure customer satisfaction all along the project life cycle
