CANDIDATUL IDEAL:
• Educational background:
o University or equivalent degree: in IT or in a relevant scientific field, most applicable in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry (Academic PhD level will be a plus).
• Required skills:
o Operating Systems : Linux as main O/S, Windows, HP-UX
o Parallel programming : MPI (especially for benchmarking)
o Programming languages: FORTRAN, C++, Java (especially for benchmarkings)
o Experience and good knowledge with programming models (SMP vs message passing)
o Knowledge of hardware architectures (processors, systems and interconnects)
o At least 3 years of relevant professional IT background
o Wide know-how of HP Product Portfolio will be a plus
o Special know-How of HPC (Cluster Computing) and Cluster Products in the market (including competitive vendors)
o Fluent in conversational, written and technical English
o Excellent communication skills in writing, presenting and listening
o Strong analytical and mathematical skills working in a highly complex IT environment.
o Ability to assimilate information and build new expertise quickly
o Strong interpersonal skills: able to collaborate and work in a virtual team, good initiative and follow-up
o Flexibility to travel
o Have another language is a plus (German, Spanish, French, Italian)

RESPONSABILITATI / BENEFICII:
Investing in a Benchmark Engineer and a System Configuration Engineer is an HP strategic measure for getting a higher direct coverage in the HPC Market
The HPC Benchmaker will have a focus on Performance Messurements & tuning (Benchmarks) for large HPC deals. HP is the market leader and wants to increase its market share in HPC. Professional benchmarking and excellent results are a major aspect in order to win large HPC projects.
Also The System Configuration Engineer will define the architecture and the configuration , with involvement for the installations of complex HPC configurations at customer sites.
A personal long term commitment to this goal as well as the will to participate building up a team spirit is essential for success in this position.
Depending on the candidate profile, he/she will be oriented more on the HPC Benchmark area or on the System Configuration area .
• Technical Presales configuration support/deal support for primarily ISE region.
• Support HPC benchmarks done at our EMEA Centers in Boeblingen and Grenoble
• Run time measurements for customer written codes as well for ISV codes
• Perform Code optimization on different hardware platforms.
• Perform Prediction of the Performances on different hardware platforms
• Definition of HPC architecture and HPC project configurations
• Adviser for the sales team
• Perform different Software Installations and different Software Configurations both on HP sites as on the Customer Sites
• Ensure an effective environment on future platforms
• Get training as required, both formal in-house training as well as on the job training.
• Frequent business travel within the EMEA region is necessary
• Ensure customer satisfaction all along the project life cycle
