Construction Engineer

-University degree in civil engineering;
-Recent university graduate or experienced candidate with up to 5 years commercial construction or other construction related experience;
-Knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes and standards;
-Knowledge of construction contracts and labor agreements;
-Ability to interface with contractors, designers, vendors and other parties connected with the project;
-Ability to identify technical problems and assist in providing resolutions to problems;
-Good Command of English - spoken and written;
-Good knowledge of Autocad, Microsoft Office (especially Excel);
-Superior interpersonal and communication skills;
-Self Motivated;
-Ability to manage multiple priorities.

As a construction engineer you will:
-Apply all safety rules and help establish and maintain a safe work environment;
-Inspect construction activities for compliance to drawings and specifications;
-Assist in the planning construction activities to ensure completion within budget and on time;
-Ensure that the quality requirements of the applicable plans, specifications and standard practices are met;
-Identify installation problems, assist in developing solutions, and ensure corrective actions are taken by the Contractor, SubContractor, or Vendor in accordance with an approved plan;
-Negotiate and oversee the negotiation of purchase contracts;
-Maintain an awareness of equipment and material delivery schedules and monitor deliveries to ensure support of construction activities;
-Perform miscellaneous assignments as directed by the Project Site Construction Manager.
