Android / Java Application Engineer

We are looking to hire Android application engineers who are passionate about building highly useable, world class applications. If you thrive in the fast paced environment of a start-up company and have the drive and desire to see your work used by millions of users we want to hear from you.

Required Experience
• At least 1 year experience with the Android SDK, Apps, and API’s including extensive UI programming
• Experience with core areas of Android programming such as memory management and asynchronous programming
• Strong skills in designing innovative UI solutions
• 4+ years’ experience in commercial application programming in Java (Python, C++, C# or Objective –C a plus)
• Experience with client-server application architectures
• Ability to deliver on time working in a fast paced agile Start-up environment
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent

Preferred Experience
• Experience mobile applications
• Experience with HTML5 and media applications
• Successful Production released Android applications
• Experience with TDD
• Experience with the Scrum development process
• ObjectiveC development, C/C++ and HTML/Javascript

Responsibilities
• Build UI and application logic for our revolutionary eReader application on the Android OS / SDK / Java
• Engage in UI design and reviews
• Participate in product definition with Product management and interaction design
• Participate in the design of client-server protocols used by our apps
• Possible future opportunities to work on platforms such as IOS and Chromium
