Packet Switch Core Engineer in TIMISOARA

The Romania CoE (Centre of Excellence) is a technology oriented tier 2 support organization for respective equipment within our clients’ networks. Its main functions are ensuring our client’s networks and services are operating at an optimum level, while retaining and improving network standards and integrity.

Centre of Excellence (CoE) Engineers uses their technical skills and knowledge of processes, systems and procedures to assure maximum network availability. The engineer provides troubleshooting, incident management, release/configuration management and regular maintenance tasks, as well as escalation management. This effort is directed at recognizing and resolving technical problems associated with these client networks and services.

The Packet Switch Core Engineer is responsible for operation, maintenance and technical problem solving in customer live switching systems. He/she is in charge of resolving Network Trouble Tickets in a given time frame depending on the severity of the NTT and performing all types of configurations. He/she interacts with the Global NOC in Romania and is part of a cross country operations team in EMEA.

• Degree/Diploma, related to telecommunications, electronics, informatics or equivalent relevant experience
• Relevant experience in a support environment
• Analytical mind with good problem solving skills and able to work independently
• Good communications and documentation skills
• English fluent in spoken and written (additionally German, if possible)
• Must have knowledge in 2G/3G mobile network topology
• In-depth knowledge of mobile core network elements, preferably Nokia (SGSN, GGSN, Flexi ISN, CGA, DNS)
• Data communication knowledge: TCP, UDP, DNS, Radius, GPRS and UMTS Core protocols
• Experience in UNIX System Administration and UNIX Applications and IP Networks
• Good knowledge in network fault/performance/configuration management tools
• Familiar with regular proactive and preventive maintenance (Alarm analysis, Backup,..)
