| CANDIDATUL IDEAL:
-The person should have a good command of English Language, and willing to travel extensively around the country
-Have a good understanding of Contract management, FIDIC etc
-BSc in Civil Engineering (Highways) from a recognised University. A post graduate qualification in construction works and management will be of added advantage.
-Minimum 10 years experience in road works with at least 5 years in a position with similar responsibilities
-Strong capacity in analytical and numerical abilities with good planning and organizational skills. -Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
-Computer literate on general office software and design and drafting software e.g. Civil design, AutoCAD

This is a Civil Engineering Construction Company engaged in the construction of Roads, Bridges marine works. The Company senior staff comprise of qualified Civil, Structural and Mechanical Engineers
The company has upgraded its management information systems with a fully fledged computerised information network with all sites and data management of technical reports accounts and procurement system. The system is managed by qualified IT staff supported by reputable IT companies
The company maintains a comprehensive inventory of Plant and equipment to cover works in the fields of mining, road works including heavy earthworks and bituminous works, heavy dam earthworks, land and offshore Piling and heavy steel fabrication works. The total no of units exceed 250 no with a resale value of US$10,000,000.
The company has current work load commitments up to the year 2012 with road and bridge contracts within Kenya of value US$ 100,000,000 ( One Hundred Million US dollars)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The company requires to fill the position of a Senior Projects Manager (Roads) to join the team in the management of its Road works
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the Management of construction of a 40 Km road comprising of site clearance, heavy earthworks construction in fill and cut, cement stabilised base and sub base in natural gravel material and asphaltic concrete wearing surface. The works also comprise construction of PCC and Box culverts and bridge works, all to the required specifications. The Project Manager will be overall in charge of a team of technical staff and will be responsible for the planning, executing and contract management of road construction works. This will cover works planning, plant and equipment planning and efficient utilisation, management of industrial relations and effective deployment of manpower for the works. The Project manger is expected to be familiar with contract management and will responsible for attending to the Engineer on all technical and contractual matters .
An attractive remuneration package will be provided for the successful candidate on a contract basis
